feather-flower Excellent and exciting album!! Definitely has that authentic SEGA sound from the 16bit era, so the effort to use the hardware mentioned in your description was well worth it.

Not only that, but these songs succeed 100% at evoking imaginary-imagery of flying ahead on a heroic mission!

The entire auditory journey was great, from start to finish!

(And it was difficult to decide whether "Lost Dimension" or "Wings Of Legend" was my favourite track!!) Favorite track: Lost Dimension (Stage 3).

about

I wanted to make a soundtrack for a game, but didn't have a game to make one for, so I made this instead: a soundtrack for a game that never existed. This was a lot of fun and a serious learning experience, as I've never seriously tried writing my own stuff before. I hope you like some of it, or at least don't hate *all* of it! ^_^

Huge thanks to everyone who supported me while working on this: Dibur and GFB for providing remixes and critique, Tomasi for the original version art, and of course all my friends and family for their encouragement and moral support throughout this project. Jimmy, Liz, Agni, Mom & Dad, all the #kurosroom peeps, and anyone else I may have forgotten. Apologies and respect to all the artists I took direct or indirect inspiration from: Yuzo Koshiro, Chris Huelsbeck, Jake Kaufman, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Hayato Matsuo, and the Technosoft sound team, among many, many others.

All tracks done entirely with the FM+PSG sound source in the Sega Mega Drive, no samples or VST reproductions. VGM files (for looping and hardware playback goodness) and Deflemask DFM source files available at: raido.moe/tunes/source_vfz.zip
